Doctrine of Auto Limitation

Philippines adheres to principles of international law as a limitation to the exercise of  its sovereignty. The fact that the international law has been made part of the law does not by any means imply the primacy of international law over national law in the municipal sphere. (Philip Morris Inc. v. CA, GR No. 91332, July 16, 1993)
